The California Zephyr Returns!

August 20-22: Domes to Feather River Railroad Days Our special train, made up entirely of private cars, will travel Emeryville to Portola, with stops to pick up passengers in Martinez, Davis, and Sacramento. When we leave Sacramento we join the former Western Pacific to continue our journey up the canyon of the Feather River to the rustic town of Portola, nestled high in the Sierras. Sleeping car passengers will stay aboard the train, which will be parked in the Feather River Railroad Museum. A variety of lodging for the day riders is available in Portola and surrounding communities. Feather River Railroad Days is in full swing this weekend, and it’s a town-size party. August 22 we retrace our steps back to the Bay Area.
